BBCPA REGIONAL MEETINGS
Each October the Association holds 2 or 3 meetings outside London. This gives members who might find it difficult travelling to London for the AGM an opportunity to meet members of the committee, to raise issues and matters of concern. The Association is able to report back on recent meetings with BBC management and Pension Fund management and answer any questions which arise. We always welcome suggestions about where we should meet next. If a local group of ex BBC staff would like to host a meeting please let us know by contacting the Membership Secretary.

Meetings 2011
October 6th in Glasgow - Old Man of Hoy meeting room, BBC Scotland, 40 Pacific Quay, Glasgow, G51 1DA.

October 13th in Oxford - at the Old Senior Common Room, Balliol College Oxford, Broad Street Oxford, OX1 3BJ. Parking almost impossible, but Park and Ride a good idea if people want to come by car - to the east and west of the town. Coaches or train drop you off about 10 mins walk away.
The meeting will be in the medieval Old Common Room at Balliol College, Oxford (behind the greenery in the photograph) at 2.15. The college room is not large, so it might be a good idea to get there early. Non members are welcome, but will be invited to join the association. The College is one of the oldest in the university - founded in 1263, though very few old buildings survive. The entrance to the college is in Broad Street. The college is probably closed to visitors but if challenged by the porters, just say you're coming to the BBC meeting. The room is just across the quadrangle a few yards away. There is almost no parking roundabout Broad Street so it's best to come by train or bus or to use the Park and Ride scheme. We look forward to seeing you there.
October 20th in Plymouth - Conference Room, Broadcasting House, Seymour Road, Plymouth, PL3 5BD.

October 27th in Belfast - Board Room, Broadcasting House, Ormeau Avenue, Belfast, BT2 8HQ.
All meetings will start at 2.15 pm with tea served at around 3.45 pm.
Regional Meeting Venues
The Association hold regular regional meetings at various locations around the UK. These meetings compensate for the London-centric ones organised by the scheme itself but also give us a real opportunity to hear the concerns of pensioners directly.
Occupational Pensioners' Alliance
The next OPA open meeting will be held on Thursday, 3rd Nov 2011 at 10.30am at the Riverside Arts Centre - The Studio, 59 Thames St, Sunbury-on-Thames, TW16 5QF. All pensioners are welcome to attend. Read more on the OPA web site.
The speaker will be Jill Leyland, Vice president of the Royal Statistical Society and Chair of the RSS National Statistics Working Party. The exact title of her talk has yet to be fixed but no doubt she will be basing it mostly on her recent paper, "RPI versus CPI - The Definitive Account", which many of you will have read.
