The BBCPA has, in its own small way, through our Memory Bank, become a repository for our members memories of working at the BBC. However, for the past 30 years The British Entertainment History Project has been recording the stories of working men and women in the UK film, television, theatre and radio industries to ensure that their lives and experiences are preserved for future generations. There are over 700 recordings and they offer a unique insight and a link to a time when we made some memorable films and ground-breaking television programmes.
The History Project, like the BBCPA, is run by a group of volunteers who give their time and energy to undertake the filming, the interviewing, the logging, the transcribing and management of the collection. They aim to open up this rich historical legacy to as wide an audience as possible by harnessing the latest technology.
